Copy Properties

Allows copying properties between map layers or tables.

Available in XTools Pro for ArcMap and for ArcGIS Pro

Standard ArcGIS functionality allows just copying layer symbology between map layers, whereas the XTools Pro “Copy Properties” tool provides more options for copying properties.

ArcGIS map documents can be created with various symbology properties and settings for layers. XTools Pro allows to effectively copy selected layer properties (symbology, labels, definition query, etc.) from one layer or a table to another layer or a table, or to a few other layers or tables.

So, if you need to copy properties of one layer to a few other layers (for example, while creating map showing different sets of layers for different scales), it is worth using the XTools Pro “Copy Properties” tool. In this case the required set of properties of already created layer is transferred to another layer of different scale.

Video Tutorial

In this video you will see an example of practical application of the XTools Pro “Copy Properties” tool.

The tool functionality is demonstrated by setting up a new map of the State of Texas on the example of the State of California by copying layer properties from the layers of one map and applying them to the layers of another one.
